Hotel Morales is a colonial and historic property built in the 19th
century. Around 1930 it became as the bullfighters' hotel and remained
like that for several decades. Therefore, Hotel Morales is proud to
affirm that bullfighting celebrities were guest here; also
personalities of the Mexican Cinema Golden Age like Maria Felix “La
Doña”, Pedro Infante, Jorge Negrete, and Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”; as
well as outstanding figures of the Mexican politics and even The King
of Soccer “Pele” stayed for the night. The Hotel Morales bar and the
old barber shop were the meeting places of the bullfighting milieu,
where everything was merriment and comradeship.
There are rumors and legends about tunnels that connect Hotel Morales
to the Metropolitan Cathedral. The date and reasons by which these
underground passages were forgotten and cancelled remain unknown.
Likewise, the use they were given is a mystery but their existence
does give an enigmatic touch to Hotel Morales. The Hotel Morales is
classified as Artistic Heritage and Colonial Jewel of the city of
Guadalajara. It also registered in the inventory of the INAH (National
Anthropology and History Institute of Mexico).
Hotel Morales boasts 64 lavish guestrooms, all of them designed with a
colonial classic decor and state-of-the-art amenities. Delight in a
history, glamour and tradition ambiance, due to all the cinema,
politics and bullfighting celebrities that have stayed here. Maybe you
